It is the first time that a Cartoon Festival chooses to use
a fax as a compulsory instrument to partecipate.
This choise is born, first of all, from the consciousness that, as an instrument aimed to
transmit sketched images, a fax has reached the widest spread; not only, it had also changed
the daily working habits of satirical cartoonists that work in the publishing market.
The most outstanding peculiarity of this means, that is to say the possibility of a remote
contemporaneous communication, has given the start to the project of crating an open exhibition
involving authors from all over the world in the real time and in direct connection;
the above-named project asks them to take part in cultural, social or political subjects
It is important to turn one’s attention to the means of communication, because we know that
no kind of technology is neutral. On the contrary, it conditions ways and forms of the artistic
expression; it changes and creates codes of expression, contributing to make clear in its
continous renewal the visual comprehensive survey of those who enjoy images, that is to say
all of us. |
