Zemun is the town known for its caricaturists. Here have lived and created many of the famous Yugoslav and world known caricaturists, among which are Miloš Vuškovic, Milan Besarabic, Nikola Rudic, Dragan Rumenčic, Predrag Koraksic - Corax, Zoran Jovanovic, Slobodan Milic, Slobodan Obradovic, Ranko Guzina, Jovan Prokopljevic, Dušan Petricic, Nenad Milicevic, Mladen Djurovic, Goran Ratkovic and others.
Following the tradition of the famous Zemun school of caricatures, International Salon of Caricature was born in 1996. Salon was founded by private publishing house "Trag", known as guardian spirite of Zemun's traditions.
Primary occupation of the Salon is the organisation of International competition of caricatures; besides the Salon also leads along other activities: - publishes monographs and books concerning caricatures - publishes the only specialised periodical magazine for caricatures in Yugoslavia - "Kart" - organizes exhibitions of Yugoslav and foreign caricaturists - collects the documentation for Museum of caricatures, opening of the same is foreseen in the near future
